Appeal for a worldwide ban on Female Genital Mutilation by the United Nations General Assembly




We, the undersigned, human rights activists and citizens worldwide, joining together after years of struggle for female genital mutilation to be recognized and condemned as a violation of the human right to physical integrity, and conscious that a United Nations ban will give new strength and impetus to the efforts that are still needed to end the practice worldwide;




- call upon the United Nations General Assembly to adopt in 2011 a Resolution to ban female genital mutilation worldwide;




- call upon all governments, and upon all international and regional organizations, to support and promote the adoption of this Resolution;




  1. -invite all citizens of the world to support this initiative and sign the appeal to put an end to this widespread and systematic form of violence committed against women and girls, in violation of their fundamental right to physical and personal integrity.

Appello per una messa al bando universale delle Mutilazioni Genitali Femminili all'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite



Noi sottoscritti cittadini di tutto il mondo e militanti per i diritti umani, riuniti oggi dopo anni di lotta affinché le mutilazioni genitali femminili siano riconosciute e condannate come violazione del diritto all’integrità della persona e coscienti che un divieto delle Nazioni Unite rafforzerà e apporterà un nuovo slancio agli sforzi che sono ancora necessari per eliminare a pratica ovunque nel mondo:




-chiediamo all’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite di adottare nel 2011 una risoluzione per mettere  al bando le mutilazioni genitali femminili ovunque nel mondo;




-chiediamo ai nostri governi, così come a tutte le organizzazioni internazionali e regionali, di sostenere e promuovere l'adozione di questa Risoluzione;


-invitiamo i cittadini di tutto il mondo a sostenere e firmare questo appello per mettere al bando questa violenza generalizzata e sistematica commessa contro le donne e le bambine, in violazione del loro diritto fondamentale all'integrità personale.

Appel pour l’interdiction mondiale des Mutilations Génitales Féminines par l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies




Nous, soussignés, citoyens du monde entier et militants des droits humains, réunis après des années de lutte pour que les mutilations génitales féminines soient reconnues et condamnées comme une violation du droit à l’intégrité personnelle et conscients qu'une interdiction des Nations Unies renforcera et donnera un nouvel élan aux efforts qui sont encore nécessaires pour éliminer la pratique dans le monde entier;




- demandons à l'Assemblée Générale des Nations Unies d’adopter en 2011 une résolution pour interdire les mutilations génitales féminines dans le monde entier;




- demandons à tous les gouvernements, ainsi qu’aux organisations internationales et régionales, de soutenir et promouvoir  l'adoption de cette résolution;




- invitons les citoyens du monde à nous soutenir et à signer cet appel, pour bannir cette violence généralisée et systématique commise contre les femmes et les filles en violation de leur droit fondamental à l’intégrité personnelle.
